Set Priorities: How to prioritize your life
Prioritization is key when it comes to taking personal responsibility, and building a steadfast life.
I want to offer a tool to help you categorize what's important and what's not, so you can spend less time distracted, and more time on the important things.
This tool is called the Eisenhower Matrix. It's called this because the story goes that this is how President Eisenhower prioritized his time during his time as POTUS!
Let's go over each category, so you know exactly what tasks to place where;
Important & Urgent-These are the tasks that must be done today, and they must be done by you.
Important, but not urgent-These are the tasks that can be put off to another day, but be mindful to find a time to get them done before they do become urgent. This is not procrastinating, this is just recognizing that it doesn't have to be done now. There is time.
Not important, but urgent-These are the tasks you likely need to delegate to others. They still need to be done, but they aren't the most important thing on which you need to focus your attention. Think laundry, cleaning, maybe even cooking, or if you have a business-social media content, email writing...who can help you with the tasks that feel like a time suck & chore that keeps you from doing the most important things on your list?
Not important, not urgent-These are the things that you could probably just remove from your list all together.
