How to craft delicious & satisfying nourish bowls!
The area of life that I'm focusing on this season is my physical health. You too? Focusing on weight training and nutrition are necessary for long term health, and nourish bowls have made nutrition so much easier.
At the beginning of the year, I did a self audit, and physical health was the area that needed the most attention. This body houses the Holy Spirit, and it’s my responsibility to care for it to the best of my ability. This is not something I’ve always done well, so it’s the area that needs the biggest improvement in my life. I also want to give myself grace here, because I know that in the grand scheme of things, I have many healthy habits!
Like most women, I was brought up steeped in diet culture. This is actually one source of childhood trauma for me. I often heard things like “you’re a butterball”, “you eat like a horse”, and “you have such a pretty face…if you just lost a few pounds…”. These words were all from family members.
Needless to say, my self esteem was in ruins, and is a catalyst for why I coach women now! See, God can turn anything for our good and the good of others.
All that being said, in this season, I really wanted to work on building strength, and learning to eat properly to fuel my body well.
I have been lifting weights a few times a week, and learning how to eat more balanced in order to repair my hormones and metabolism. Diet culture has done a lot of damage on this body!
One of the things I'm loving right now are nourish bowls! I see them ALL over Pinterest, and Instagram, and they always look delicious!
They are so easy to prep, easy to adjust to different cuisines, and SOOO satisfying!
I need things to be easy. I'm all about keeping things efficient and simple, so nourish bowls are a perfect match for me! In case you're in the same boat as me, I hope this is helpful.
PS, here’s a recipe for a super delicious Greek chicken bowl! In fact, I’m heading to the store today to grab a few ingredients to make these ASAP.
